ClearSkin4u is a founder-led specialist skin clinic in Romiley, Stockport, created from lived experience, continuous education and a deep understanding of how skin concerns can affect confidence, wellbeing and everyday life.
Before ClearSkin4u, there was a personal search for answers.
Gemma’s journey into skin began after being diagnosed with psoriasis that affected almost her entire body, including her face.
Her skin was often sore, dry and uncomfortable. She would rely on heavy makeup to feel able to leave the house, only for it to crack, separate and flake away as the day went on.
The emotional side became just as difficult as the physical symptoms. Stress would often trigger further flare-ups, creating a cycle that felt hard to escape.
Years of trying treatments led to a deeper need to understand skin.
Gemma attended doctors’ appointments many times, tried prescription creams, light therapy and medication through dermatology services, but nothing gave her the long-term improvement she hoped for.
Alongside psoriasis, she also experienced hormonal acne, which deepened her interest in skin function, inflammation, triggers and barrier health.
This became the turning point. She wanted to understand skin properly — not just how to treat symptoms, but how to support the person living with them.

ClearSkin4u Philosophy
Balancing motherhood, work and a growing obsession with skin health.
When Gemma entered the world of skin, she was a mum and working a full-time job. Her original ambition was to medically train as a dermatologist so she could help people not only with skin conditions, but with the emotional impact too.
Although traditional medical training was not realistic at that stage of life, she committed to learning deeply and independently — reading extensively, studying skin behaviour and approaching education with the same seriousness and curiosity.
She later completed her Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology and Access to Aesthetics training before progressing into advanced aesthetics and completing her Level 4 qualification.
